I can bring home the bacon and fry it up in a pan.
Not really....Hip hubby brings home the bacon, I just buy it. Fry it in a pan who has time for that, thank you microwave..If you have not guessed by now it is TAKS time here in TEXAS and my kids have it all week. So for breakfast the the orders have changed. The short order cook is on duty every morning at 6:30 a.m.
I've already made waffles, scrambled eggs, fried bacon (o.k. I used the microwave), made biscuits, pored the milk and they wanted fresh squeezed O.J. ( get real kids, I'm no Martha Stewart and neither is she. I'd like to see her do everything she says she does without her staff of 50 people.)
Gone this week are the pop-tarts, bowls of cereal and frozen waffles, thank goodness this is only for a week. Not to mention that we still have to make the lunches. 3 sandwiches, 1 with just peanut-butter, 1 with peanut-butter and grape jelly, 1 with turkey and mustard, all with grapes and then throw in the different flavors of chips, bottles of water and all the other stuff and you better not get them mixed up or the kids day is reunion and you will never here the end of it. All this before 7 a.m.
And I am still waiting for the Mother of the Year Award....Where is it???

We're having the same week here... BOO TAKS!!!
Oh!! I get to see what 123 looks like!! Girl, if I was that beautiful I'd have my face plastered all over that cute little blog of yours. It's funny, everytime I think of you I imagine your pretty sister. You had her on a post and she is etched in my memory. :)
Mal... I'm all about spending the bacon too... not frying it. :) hee hee
What are TAXS? And why does that require you to cook huge breakfasts?
My kids are not big breakfast eaters...and eating that early would be impossible around here. When I am not pushing the youngest out the door for school (with just a yogurt or a smoothie in her stomach)...meaning summer time...they are not hungry until 10 or 10:30...so they decided they would start having "blunch" - guess they had not heard of "brunch." :-)
Ahh...thanks for coming over to my blog to answer my question! My daughter just had three days of the CRCT - for first grade! Testing could get me really going...but I have a feeling that we are in the same camp on that one!
Natasha was singing your song last night on American Idol. Eric looked up and said, "Hey Mom, that's the song that is on your friend's blog!" She really did a good job with it being live. ~Jill
Girl, i totally saw here on AI...and she rocked. I don't know why I love that song, it just makes me HAPPY and full of SUNSHINE...
go to www.dumpr.net and get some cool stuff. I saw it over at brown eyed fox! Have fun...
Hugs! Lanny
ahhhh...
3 boys... and one on his way to high school.
You'll have to give me lots of advice! I so want to figure this "all boy" thing out! Are all you're boys into sports?
We'll have to chat.
I'm guessing TAXS are like our MEAPS here in MI. Yes the one week we feed our kid's in the morning. Mine hate breakfast. I'm not a big fan either. We like sleep more, no time for food!
I thought of you yesterday as my daughter planned her slumber/birthday party for tonight. We are having donuts in the morning. And bacon (microwaved of course). Don't tell the food pyramid police.
We sure are missing you Hip Mom of Boyz! Hope all is going well at Kyle's tournament. Can't wait to hear from you Sunday night! :) ~Jill
We lost the first game we played today at noon. Arrgghh! So... we are at home now. Hope you guys had better success on the ballfield this weekend. :) Welcome Back!! :) ~Jill
